For best results, Dr. Brown prefers to approach the face as a whole, rather than just focusing on one individual area. Beauty is all about restoring balance and bringing out the best features in our patients. For the face, we must sometimes address the bony support, the loss of underlying fat, sagging fat pockets, thinning skin, superficial wrinkles, and/or texture change.
During this process, we understand that patients have both monetary and downtime limitations. We can always address your priorities slowly in a step-by-step manner. Call us to set up a consultation. We are eager to be part of your journey!
Temples
This little neglected area can quietly reveal your age without you ever knowing it. As we naturally get older, the fat pads in certain areas of the face begin to disappear. You may have great cheekbones and beautiful lips, but the hollow area in the temples is a tell-tale sign for aging. Fortunately, a quick injection session with very little downtime can easily correct this indention and restore the youthful volume.
Forehead Lines
The horizontal lines on the forehead are due to active and frequent muscle movements. We typically soften these successfully with Botox/Dysport/Daxxify injections. But for patients who already have heavy or low eyebrows, this could lower the eyebrows even more, which is not a good look. Filler injections can help to soften the lines without affecting the muscle movement at all. This treatment also helps with patients who have strong etched in lines even after Botox/Dysport/Daxxify injections.
Undereyes
Deep grooves or shadows under the eyes can give the impression that you are chronically tired or sleep deprived, even on your best, most rested days. Adding subtle volume to this area can completely transform the frame around the eyes. The results are almost magical.
Cheeks/Midface
Filler injections in the midface can make your cheeks plumper and more youthful or give you nicely defined cheekbones. Cheek injections can provide subtle, non-surgical contouring of the face with very little downtime. This area is definitely not a “one size fits all” treatment, however. Many patients need more definition in the upper cheekbones to provide more lift to the cheeks, while others need lower placement to produce perky “apple” cheeks. Some patients already have extremely full cheeks and should avoid this area altogether. Dr. Brown has certainly seen the fad of overfilled cheeks come and go through the years. Fortunately, we now have other cosmetic procedures to lift the cheeks rather just than fill them.
Lower Face
Hyaluronic acid filler injections in the lower face can safely rejuvenate saggy, wrinkled skin in this area. There are many different areas of focus in the lower face, depending on the patient’s individual needs:
- Soften the nasolabial folds (the lines from the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth)
- Soften the marionette lines (the folds from the corner of the mouth down towards the chin)
- Lift sagging mouth corners
- Improve mild jowls by injecting and providing support in front of them. This is often performed in conjunction with other treatments for the jowls.
- Soften the thin smile lines on the cheeks that form with facial movement
- Soften sleeper’s lines that form on the lateral cheeks from sleeping on your side at night.
- Soften the mental crease (the horizontal line across the top of the chin)
