Temple Filler Injections
This little neglected area can quietly reveal your age without you ever knowing it. As we naturally get older, the fat pads in certain areas of the face begin to disappear. You may have great cheekbones and beautiful lips, but the hollow area in the temples is a tell-tale sign for aging. Fortunately, a quick injection session with very little downtime can easily correct this indention and restore the youthful volume.
What filler does Dr. Brown inject into the
temples?
Because these injections are placed in a safer area deep
on top of the bone, Dr. Brown must use a thicker product such as Voluma, Radiesse, Lyft or Versa. Most
patients start with 2 syringes (1 per side), but more can always be added later, if needed.
How long will the results last?
Most
fillers last 10-18 months in this area, depending on various factors such as the patient's metabolism
and the specific filler used. We can go over these options at your consultation or injection
appointment.
Is there any pain invoved with the injection?
The temple area is not very painful to inject, particularly since we pretreat with topical
numbing medicine for about 40 minutes prior. This is actually a very easy area to have done. You
may have some tenderness later that night with opening your mouth wide, such as during tooth flossing.
What is the downtime afterwards for temple
injections?
This area has only mild swelling and rare bruising,
so most patients are able to go right back to work or to run errands afterwards. You may have some
slight bulging of the blood vessels over the area for that day, but this is not very noticeable.
